PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Approved Drawings Are the Start, Not the Finish

A set of approved drawings doesn’t build itself. Between approval and handover sits a builder, a handful of consultants, a construction schedule, and dozens of small decisions that can drift a project away from what was actually approved if no one’s watching for it.
We stay on after approval rather than stepping away once council signs off. That means coordinating your builder and consultants as construction starts, visiting site through the build to check progress and quality against the approved drawings, and managing the project through to practical completion, defects and final sign-off.
This suits projects we’ve designed ourselves, and projects designed elsewhere that just need someone managing the build against the drawings.

More Than Checking In

Our Process

1

Forward Planning

Once drawings are approved, scope and sequencing are confirmed and your builder and consultants are engaged and briefed before construction starts.

2

Documentation Handover

Approved drawings, structural certification and energy reports handed to your builder in a construction- ready form, with any outstanding consultant input finalised.

3

Scheduling & Site Supervision

Regular site visits through construction to check progress and quality against the approved drawings, with consultants and your builder kept coordinated as the build moves through each stage.

4

Practical Completion & Defects

A practical completion inspection, a defects list raised and followed up until resolved, and final sign-off coordinated before the project is handed over.

Questions? You’re covered.
What does project management cover, exactly?
Everything between an approved set of drawings and a finished, handed-over project: coordinating your builder and consultants, visiting site to check progress and quality against the approved drawings, tracking the schedule, and managing practical completion and defects at the end.
We coordinate directly with your builder throughout, so you're not the one relaying information between them, the consultants and council. You stay informed without having to manage the day-to-day yourself.
It depends on the project's size and stage — more frequently around key milestones like footings, frame and fit-out, less often during routine work. We set out a visit schedule with you at the start.
We flag it directly with your builder as soon as it's identified, before it becomes a bigger fix. That's the point of regular site supervision rather than only checking in at handover.
Yes. A practical completion inspection produces a defects list, and we follow that up with your builder until every item is resolved, not just noted.
Yes. We work from whatever approved drawings and documentation exist, regardless of who prepared them.
A builder's supervisor works for the builder and manages their own trades. We work for you, checking the build against what was actually approved and flagging anything that drifts from it, independent of the builder's own oversight.
Both. Structural engineers, energy assessors and surveyors often still have a role once construction starts — certifying stages, confirming compliance — and we keep that coordination going through the build, not just up to approval.
Often, yes, though what we can pick up depends on how far the project's progressed and what documentation already exists. Worth a conversation about where things currently stand.
It depends on the project's size and how much site involvement it needs through construction. We give a fixed quote once we know the project's scope and stage.
